My Leg

2020, ceramics

This ceramic piece was created by covering my leg with clay to feel its texture, temperature, and humidity, recording my body’s shape. I imprinted my leg into the clay, reshaped it, and fired it in ceramic, permanently preserving the part of my body I liked the least. The work uses bold and exaggerated forms to explore self-perception, acceptance, and the flexibility of beauty standards.
