Cutting

2020, plaster, artist’s body, bandages

Cutting is a performance art piece in which I wrap myself in plaster and bandages and then cut through the materials. As the scissors slide into the tight space between the plaster layer and my body, they create a gap in the process of breaking the bindings, resulting in noticeable pain and discomfort. This act explores the tension between constraint and liberation, reflecting the complex relationship between the body and self-awareness. The moment of cutting is not only a physical release from restriction but also a deep reflection on the boundaries and limitations of the body.
