146 Weeks

2017, paper, artist’s body, sticker, video

This series explores the emotional journey of weight control and self-perception. The first piece documents 146 weeks of weight changes, with weight curves printed and meticulously arranged on a wall. Despite the significant effort, the final image reveals the curve as almost flat, symbolizing the illusion of external progress versus the reality of internal transformation.

The second piece transfers these weight curves onto the body using water-transfer techniques. By turning data points into "tattoos" on the skin, the work illustrates how this habit has become an integral part of life—an invisible yet profound "scar" reflecting the lasting impact of discipline and self-expectation.

The final piece contrasts this control with a reversed video of binge eating. The chaotic act of consumption starkly contrasts with the meticulous weight tracking, revealing the cyclical struggle between control and indulgence. Together, the series examines body image, habits, and the emotional weight of self-regulation.
